As the summer season draws to a close and the days grow shorter, our focus at Cornerstone begins to shift to what’s next.

Fall is Construction Crunch Time in Alaska

In Alaska, we know that the weather can change on a dime, especially as winter approaches. At Cornerstone, our crews are racing against time, and rain, sleet, early snow, to seal buildings, pour foundations, and insulate interior spaces before winter sets in. Cornerstone always starts a project with the end in mind.

Safety First, Always

Our teams, both onsite and in the office, regularly check for weather updates, and we’re ready to adapt at a moment’s notice. Our crews are trained on how to work safely in cold temperatures, from an extra layer of clothing to heated break areas and hot drinks. As the first construction company in Alaska to earn CHASE Flag designation, our commitment to safe, smart construction continues, especially now. It’s a reminder—when the season speeds up, our standards stay steady.

Local Roots, Statewide Reach

Just down the street from our headquarters in Anchorage, our crews at Inlet View Elementary School are wrapping up envelope construction. Our new Southeast regional office in Juneau is buzzing with activity as we prepare to support upcoming coastal projects. Whether it’s a new facility in southeast, renovations in southcentral, or facility upgrades in remote outposts—no matter when or where the work happens—a project requires thoughtful planning, creative scheduling, and a neighborly mindset.

Looking Ahead

When daylight lessens and the air turns brisk, we begin to pivot towards winterizing our worksites and preparing for the next season. At Cornerstone, we’re not just wrapping up projects; we’re wrapping up another chapter of collaboration and real community impact.

So whether we’re installing exterior panels as termination dust creeps down the mountains, coordinating logistics during blustery Interior mornings in Nome or Kotzebue, or just sharing hot coffee on a chilly interior jobsite, every moment is a nod to what makes construction in Alaska special. It’s not just structures we’re building… it’s trust, connection, and a future for all Alaskans.
